スティーブ・ジョブズが亡くなりました。大変残念です。思い出はつきませんが、まず何より、心よりご冥福をお祈りいたします。
今になり改めて、彼の偉大さを思い知ります。彼の復帰後、Appleという会社は大きく変わりました。一人の"a visionary and creative genius"に頼るのではなく、デザインに、マーケティングに、テクノロジーに、ロジスティクスに、Appleらしい製品を世に送り出す人々が集まる”company”が築かれました。
また、Appleが世に送り出した数多くの製品を見て触り使うことは、「Appleとは」「Appleらしさとは何か」について繰り返し感じ、考えさせられる経験です。彼なき後も、Macは、iPhoneは、iPadは、Apple TVは、私たちの日常生活の"dear friend"であり、彼のいた頃のAppleを思い出させる"inspiring mentor"であり続けるでしょう。
その意味において、"his spirit will forever"であると、私には思えます。彼は、これからもAppleに関わり続ける私たちに必要な全てを残してくれました。このことに何よりも感謝し、きょうの日と共に心に刻みます。
